ತೈವಾನ್ : ತೈವನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ರಗಾಸಾ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತದಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾದ ಭೀಕರ ಪ್ರವಾಹವು ತೈವಾನ್ನ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ತಾಣವಾದ ಹುವಾಲಿಯನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿನಾಶವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಈ ದುರಂತದಲ್ಲಿ 14 ಜನರು ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು 124 ಜನರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಬುಧವಾರ ವರದಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಪರ್ವತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರೀ ಮಳೆಯಿಂದ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡ ಸರೋವರದ ಅಣೆಕಟ್ಟು ಒಡೆದು ಈ ಅನಾಹುತ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದೆ. ನಂತರ ನೀರಿನ ಬೃಹತ್ ಪ್ರವಾಹವು ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಗುವಾಂಗ್ಫು ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿತು.
ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ಮ್ಯಾನ್ ನೀರಿನ ಅಲೆಯನ್ನು “ಸುನಾಮಿಯಂತೆ” ಎಂದು ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಸಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಚೆ ಕಚೇರಿಯ ಎರಡನೇ ಮಹಡಿಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾದರು, ಅವರ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆದರೆ ನಂತರ ಅವರು ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದಾಗ, ಪ್ರವಾಹದ ನೀರು ಅವರ ಕಾರನ್ನು ಅವರ ವಾಸದ ಕೋಣೆಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿಸಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡರು.
ಸತ್ತವರು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಣೆಯಾದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಗುವಾಂಗ್ಫು ಮೂಲದವರು ಎಂದು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪ್ರವಾಹವು ಎಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಬಲವಾಗಿತ್ತೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ನದಿಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಸೇತುವೆಯನ್ನು ಸಹ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಹಾಕಿತು.
